About Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary

Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary established 1988.

Farm animal rescue sanctuary animals have had such a rotten deal before reaching our sanctuary: tethered sows, crated calves, battery hens, live exports - all part of the modern intensive system. While the farm animal rescue sanctuary exists, a few can escape. But Carole cannot bear the burden alone - she needs help and the animals need help.

We hope that the pictures shown on this site will prove that Farm Animals have lots of charm and that they love life just as much as cats and dogs.

From experience we know that they are all individuals with different personalities. That is why learning to know them is such a rewarding and enlightening pleasure.

We also know that despite their individuality there are some characteristics they all share making them particularly attractive.

For they are all gentle, harmless, trusting, stoic and very affectionate when given the opportunity. No wonder Ghandi, that great advocate of non violence, always recommended that these Animals should be treated with compassion.

Alas that has not happened. Instead mans' greed has condemned these gentle creatures to an almost intolerable lifestyle: in factory farms, battery units, rapid intensive breeding, using hormone therapy.

Often followed by being sent abroad and thus becoming part of the evil "Live Export Trade", which can often end in a brutal death.

These Animals do not deserve to be treated so cruelly just to enhance mans' profit. It is uncivilised behaviour and should not be condoned by the human race.

If you agree with the sentiments expressed here, please help by adopting a pig, ewe, ram, bullock or cow.

This way you will help to secure the future for the seven hundred plus Animals that have been rescued from circumstances that are sometimes too sad to fully describe.

Running a Sanctuary of this nature is expensive but the rewards are enormous. So why not become a member of F.A.R.S. and learn more about these delightful Animals.

I should also mention Kaylie Day who also works ceaselessly behind the scenes to ensure that the Sanctuary has a future.

She had the original idea for an adoption scheme and now acts as Trustee, leaving Carole free to look after the animals. The amount of work involved in this endeavour should not be underestimated and it's all done for the love of the animals.

Salvi at Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary Adoption

Carole also has a couple of regular dedicated volunteers - Salvi and Janice. They lend a hand with the animals at the Sanctuary and provide much needed help.

Last but not least - a heartfelt thanks must go to all the people who have sponsored animals. The cost of running Farm Animal Rescue Sanctuary rises all the time and it is only with continued support from these people that the future of the animals can be secured.
