Do you remember last winter? The temperature fell to -18C at Woolly Park Farm in January 2011.
Please help us to make sure that we have enough feed and bedding for our animals this winter
Animal feed costs have already increased dramatically over the past 3 years. This year they are likely to increase even further because of the poor harvest, general inflationary trends and the increased production of bio-fuels.
We have over 460 animals to feed, mostly sheep but also curley-coated pigs, turkeys and cockerels. Our feed costs amounted to £900 per week last winter and costs are going to rise this coming winter.
The increased cost of diesel and electricity has also put a serious strain on our budget. We are struggling financially like many others and we are desperately worried that our animals may go short of food this winter.
This is why we are starting early with our Appeal so that we can try to build up some reserves.
Please donate to our winter feed appeal – donations of all siZES are very welcome!
